Most people have seen the television shows and movies showing casino security. They have rooms full of camera focused on every table and inch of the casinos rooms. Casinos are probably the most monitored places in the world. Yet, when you walk around the casinos floor, you see only a few people that can be identified as Security.  Not all of the casinos security people wear uniforms. There are plenty of security people roaming the casino floor who don’t wear uniforms. These are the people that handle any problems that develop on the casino floor.

Most of the surveillance is electronic. The casino internet gambling security staff is monitoring both the staff and the visitors. Almost all of the protocol at the gaming tables is for the security cameras.  The cards never leave the table and the dice are always in plain view.  Most tables have protocols for buying chips. In blackjack, for example, the player doesn’t request to buy chips or take a hit verbally. The dealer won’t answer.  The player who wants chips places the money on the table and waits for the dealer to give me the corresponding amount of chips. There is no change. The dealer is not allowed to take the money from the players hand or to give him change. The player that wants a hit scratches the felt on the table or taps the felt with his finger. All of the signals and money are kept in plain view of the camera.
