Players need to know the ranking of hands if they are to successfully play casino gambling poker. A player can’t know if he is beating what is showing on board unless he knows the ranking of hands. Most of these ranking are common sense. Unless stated in the house rules, high hand always wins. If there are two flushes, the highest one wins. The UK gambling player must memorize these rankings.
• Royal Flush is the highest hand in poker consisting of the ten through the ace in the same suit.
• Straight Flush consists of five consecutive cards of the same suit. It is a combination of a straight and a flush.
• Four of a Kind is four of the same rank card. The highest four of a kind wins.
• Full House consists of three of a kind and a pair. The highest three of a kind Full House wins.
• Flush consists of five cards from the same suit. The rank of the flush is determined by the highest card. In the case of a tie, the highest flush wins.
• Straight consists of five consecutively numbered cards. Suit is not important. Three of a Kind is three cards of the same number.
• Two Pairs are two cards of the same number for two different numbers
• Pair is when a player has two cards of the same number. The highest pair wins.
• High Card. The Ace counts as a high card.
